About Us

A House for
Heritage & Craft

Hare & Grouse exhibits and promotes historical and cultural arts and crafts. We believe the handmade deserves to be studied, seen and kept.

Our name

Why the hare
and the grouse?

Two creatures of field and moor, painted, woven and carved by makers for centuries. They stand for what we care about: art rooted in place, patience and close observation — and for the pairing of the old with the new that runs through every exhibition we make.

Our intertwined monogram carries the same idea: two letters, two traditions, one mark.
